So I finished the paintings of both of these drawings! 6 more to go.
These two are 11" x 14" each, so that's a bit on the large side for me. I also got a big load off my chest in the form of my side projects, which include a website for a performer-friend and an overseas group show (if customs and all that jazz goes ok!). But more on that later. This was a very productive week, and I'm ready for another, and another...and then it's the end of the year, isn't it?

Oh, and don't worry, you will see a nice big preview of these paintings in January. Since Cannibal Flower is just for one day, I will post everything beforehand.

Little Things

This is a song illustration for Hanne Hukkelberg's "Little Girl," from her album titled "Little Things." The lyrics would make an incredible series of small paintings. And I would totally do it if I wasn't so overworked already!

Sigh. It seems like only yesterday that it was last Thursday. Why is the year in such a hurry to be over?

I noticed that I haven't said what I've been up to all week: let's see. I finished my first painting for the Cannibal Flower show last week, and began the 2nd one this week. I should be able to finish it tomorrow. In addition, I have a few side projects that I'm always working on (my weekends, for example, are entirely devoted to these side projects). So there you have it.

Until next time!

...and I hope I didn't forget anything! I did this drawing as an homage to my sad obsession with stuff (also known as materialism, I guess). It's not so much obsession, as it is dependency, because just thinking about all the stuff I need in order to function, is ridiculous! And then there are the things that I just have to have (my book collection is insane), the stuff that I can't throw away, and the things that I can't believe I spend money on. Necessary excessiveness, is what I call it!
