I Can't Stop Drawing You!

...Uzeyer! You're just such a terrific character!
I am so addicted to this show that I have to see it for a second time-- that day will be October 14 at 1pm, and we have front row seats again, only this time it's in those aisle things right by the stage. Really, that's saying something, because I don't watch "live things that are expensive" twice unless I'm insanely obsessed. But I'm so excited to see it again, that it feels like the same excitement I felt when I hadn't ever seen it yet. My heart is with that entire cast.

Come On and Sneak a Peek

Next January, Gallery 1988 (Los Angeles) is having a Stan Lee show, which I am excited to be contributing to. I've been throwing ideas around in my head and doing sketches for this ever since Jensen asked me to do it, and now I finally have a finished drawing. The painting itself should not be too far off.

So here is Rogue, watering the flower-men she can never have (sniffle!), while being consumed by the personalities that she absorbs. The quilt border is for the South, with home-sweet-home in the back. I still might use the quilt squares for a second narrative, but whatever the pattern is, I'm going to keep it simple and secondary.

The sort of thing that makes life worth living.

Just saw Cirque du Soleil's Corteo last night and it was UNBELIEVABLE. I don't see how anyone could *not* have been blown away by it. It was beautiful; a feast for the eyes, overflowing with passion and talent. I left with so much love for everyone involved in it. I also left with red and painful hands from clapping so much. I could only dream to be able to blow away an audience like these people do.

Look at the drop-dead gorgeous curtain:

Kit Chatham (left), the drummer, was one of my favorites. Couldn't take my eyes off him.
Edit: Did I mention that we had front row seats? Worth every penny!
