...can't believe it's already been a week! My first trip to New York was unforgettable, but way too short. I know I'll have to go back again soon. I don't normally do picture posts, but thought that this event merited one. Here are a few pics from opening night that I scavenged from around the net, as well as some random shots from the gazillion that my sister took, haha.

From left to right: me, Heidi, and Joao Ruas (photo courtesy of Heidi's husband). It was great meeting all of them, and everyone else I got to talk to while I was there :) And of course many thanks to Beau & Christine from LeBasse Projects for having me there, and to the nice people at GenArt-- great meeting you.

L to R: My family and me (center) in front of my washed-out painting, me prattling away about the story in my piece in 60 seconds or less...and a couple of crowd shots. These 4 are courtesy of GenArt.

The architecture in this city is unbelievable and so inspiring (I know I have to use it in future work).

The Yankees won the World Series while we were there, and had a huge ticker-tape parade. We didn't see it, but we did get to walk the streets after it was over. The aftermath of the parade had a 'snow' effect on some of the architecture.

The above pic kind of feels as cold as it was over there! Cab drivers kept telling us it was like a summer day for them, but I was frozen solid.

My sis and my folks got to go to Central Park on Saturday, and she got this wonderful shot. She also captured the texture of the statue in the next one. I love how weathered it is.

I didn't get to see the Statue of Liberty on this trip, but it appears that my sister did. Haha..

Miss you already, NY.
